Mauro Icardi refuses to leave Inter Milan

Inter Milan skipper Mauro Icardi has confirmed that Premier
League club Manchester United made an offer for him in
the January transfer window.
The bid was rejected by the 22-year-old forward, who
insists that he has no intentions of leaving the Italian club
any time soon.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the Argentine
striker when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club. It
has been widely reported that the Portuguese would try to
sign him again, should he take charge of the Manchester
United job next summer.
When asked to comment on his potential transfer, Icardi
told CdS as quoted by The Independent:
“I heard something, but I want to stay at Inter. My answer
will always by the same: I want to stay here.”
“If Manchester try again, it will not be the first club or the
last that I refuse. I feel good in Milan and I will not leave.
“The club has a major project and is making big
investments to get back to winning and I want to help out.”
Icardi made a strong impression last season when he
became the top scorer in Serie A, but this season he has cut
a disappointing figure under Roberto Mancini.
He is still however a very important player for the side and
Inter will want him to stay at the club for a long time. Inter
reportedly rejected a £23m bid from United in January, but
the Red Devils are likely to come up with a big offer for the
Argentine, again.
It seems like Icardi is enjoying his life at Inter and doesn’t
fancy a move to the Premier League. Manchester United
can forget about signing him, and should focus on other
targets instead.
