Liverpool considering £15m move for Arsenal’s 22-year-old

The latest reports from ESPN and Sport Witness claim
that the Premier League giants Manchester United are
one step away of completing a big-money move for
Villarreal defensive starlet Eric Bailly.
The Spanish sources, AS and radio station Cadena SER
have claimed that both clubs have reached an agreement
in principle on a deal that will cost around €40m.
According to the same sources, Old Trafford side still
need to agree to personal terms with the 22-year-old
centre-back but it is believed that that it’s only a
formality.
Bailly has started at centre-back for the La Liga outfit
Villarreal since signing for just €5.5m from Espanyol 18
months ago as a replacement for Gabriel Paulista, who
made his move to Arsenal.
The Ivory international has 14 appearances for the
national team and started all 6 games during their run to
the 2015 African Nations Cup title.
Alongside with Villarreal centre-back, the Red Devils are
also monitoring the progress of several highly-rated
defenders, including Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and
Athletic Bilbao starlet Aymeric Laporte.
After the departures of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic,
the Red Devils have been struggling in defensive positions
and now, Man United’s new head coach Jose Mourinho
believes that Eric Bailly would be a perfect addition to the
club.
