Manchester United's hopes of signing Robert Lewandowski
this summer are all but over after he agreed a new contract
with Bayern Munich , Bild report.
The Red Devils had been closely watching the Poland
international this season as they weighed up whether to
make a bid when the transfer window reopens.
But the 27-year-old, who had also been linked with
Manchester City, has put an end to speculation over his
future ahead of Carlo Ancelotti's arrival.
It is reported he has agreed a new five-year deal to keep
him at the Allianz Arena until 2021.
Liverpool should launch a move for United outcast Victor
Valdes this summer, according to Don Balon .
The Spanish goalkeeper is currently on loan at Standard
Liege after being exiled at Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal.
Valdes' contract with United expires in the summer
although the club have the option to activate a year-long
extension.
But Don Balon claim Valdes is an ideal signing for Jurgen
Klopp, with the fact he would be available on a free transfer
a crucial factor.
United could end up paying £34m for Memphis , according
to documents released by website Football Leaks .
The Dutch forward has so far flopped for the Red Devils
since signing from PSV last summer.
It was initially reported that he had arrived for a fee in the
region of £20m but it is claimed the true fee was £26.7m.
United paid an initial £13.35m up front with a further
£6.6m paid in January and the same amount will be due at
the end of the season.
But the fee could eventually reach £34m should bonuses
for winning the Premier League or success in Europe be
met over the next three years.
