Manchester United Approaches Messi As Arsenal Triggers Jamie Vardy Clause

Fresh reports from the UK say that
Manchester United is exploring the
potential of a sensational move to bring
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to Old
Trafford.
Daily Mail UK is reporting that United has
already made two approaches to Messi in
the last three weeks in an attempt to gauge
whether a move for the Argentine might be
possible.
Any move is more likely to be with a view
to United returning to the Champions
League under Jose Mourinho in 2017-18.
Daily Mail UK believes that Messi could
make shock move to Manchester United as
Argentine forward seeks assurances over
future at Barcelona.
The tabloid reports that a deal for Messi
would smash the £85.3m world record
transfer that Real Madrid paid Tottenham
for Gareth Bale.
Messi’s current deal at the Nou Camp is set
to expire in 2018 and it has emerged that
he will require certain assurances if he is
to remain at Barcelona, where he has
scored an astonishing 453 goals in 531
games.
Meanwhile, reports say that Arsenal is in
talks to sign Leicester star striker, Jamie
Vardy after triggering his £20million
release clause.
Daily Mirror UK reports that Gunners boss,
Arsene Wenger is ready to do the deal after
his London club and several other Premier
League clubs were sounded out by England
striker Vardy’s representatives.
Liverpool offered the player £140,000 a
week, but Arsenal is in pole position
because the clause is only available to
Champions League clubs.
