Rio 2016 Paralympics: Ezuruike wins gold for Nigeria, sets new record

Team Nigeria won two medals on Friday, at the ongoing Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Latifat Tijani won a silver medal in women’s powerlifting, narrowly failing to clinch gold.
However, Ronaldo Ezuruike took gold in the men’s powerlifting -54kg category. He lifted 200kg, to finish far ahead of 10 other finalists.
In achieving this feat, he also broke the previous Paralympic record of 185kg.
China’s Jian Wang won silver with a lift of 170 kg, while Dimitros Bakochristos of Greece won bronze with 162kg.
